Welcome to goldenlyon.com

his web site is an independent, on-line genealogy resource for studying related families of the Lower Eastern Shore of "Delmarva". Included are the counties of Kent and Sussex in Delaware, Caroline, Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester in Maryland, and Northampton and Accomac in Virginia. I have also done some studies in the Upper Shore area of Talbot and Queen Anne's counties. For over 23 years I have been doing research on the lower Eastern Shore, visiting courthouses, archives, libraries, graveyards and gathering from other family members gleaning information. My interest is to share and trade genealogical information where possible. Most recently I have been asked to join the ranks of Colonial Roots Genealogy. They have encompassed some of the best known genealogists and prominent authors of Delmarva Genealogy such as Robert Barnes, Vernon L.Skinner Jr., and its founder F. Edward Wright. My goal is to bring together both published materials and original source documents dedicated to the publishing in the Colonial Family series, and to eventually publish my own book that will cover some of these families into the 20th century. Most recently I have contributed and edited for Volume 12 of the Colonial Families of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and now released Vol.15 in the same series, authored by myself and F. Edward Wright. I am currently working and hope to contribute to future volumes. This web site is just piece of a much larger picture which might spark the interest of budding genealogists, and the experienced researcher.
